Love Bites - A 10 Minute Valentine Sweet Treat
Place 100g sultanas in a small bowl, pour on 2 - 3 tablespoons of dark rum. Cover the bowl and leave for a couple of hours or until the sultanas are plump and moist.
Just before use drain the sultanas well.
Melt 100g of Belgian Dark Chocolate Callettes (buttons) in a
microwave, heating for 20-30 seconds at a time until just melted, a minimum of 32°C.
If using a thermometer heat until they reach nnn degrees.
Quickly stir the sultanans into the melted Chocolate Calletes and spoon into mini cupcake/sweet cases. When nearly set sprinkle half of the sweets with edible pink hearts. Shower the other half of the chocolates with Sherry or Claret coloured Lustre Dust by loading a clean, dry paint brush with the Lustre Dust and, holding the brush over the chocolate, tap until the chocolate is coated with the colour.
For an alcohol free version, try soaking the sultanas in apple or orange juice instead of rum.
Add finely chopped glace peel for an extra citrus twist.
Try making some of the chocolates with White or Milk Chocolate Callettes.
